However, it is often not easy to detect these pathogens. Additionally, <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Campylobacter <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">infections result in 33 million human deaths annually. A significant percentage of cases originate from the chicken reservoir. It only takes a small number of cells to cause an infection and there are currently no bulletproof control strategies. This involves reducing the faecal load on farms, which can lead to a significant reduction in carcass contamination and human infections.
