In its monthly Peanut Market Insight report,\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW46257840 BCX0\">Expana<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW46257840 BCX0\">\u00a0includes the chart below, which tracks volumes of edible-grade peanuts used in various food products compared to recent years and the trailing five-year average covering the 2020\/21 through 2024\/25 crop years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW46257840 BCX0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/library.urnerbarry.com\/Images\/pnut_usg_tot_mar26.jpg\" width=\"716\" height=\"419\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span class=\"SubTitle\">March\u00a0usage\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">March usage in products was reported at\u00a0207.7 million pounds,\u00a0representing\u00a0a month-over-month (MOM) increase of\u00a012.3 million pounds, up 6.3%.\u00a0Usage\u00a0was\u00a08.3 million pounds\u00a0higher than March 2025, up 4.2%. This is 1.7% below the five-year average of\u00a01,589.6 million pounds\u00a0for the August-March period but 0.8% above the same period in 2024\/25 (1,550.4 million pounds). The current year&#8217;s accumulation continues to track closer to historical norms.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Of the\u00a01,562.9 million pounds\u00a0used through March, the breakdown by category is as follows:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Peanut butter:\u00a0<\/strong>950.6 million pounds, 1.9% below the five-year average for the August-March period and 1.6% below the same period in 2024\/25<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Candy:<\/strong>\u00a0254.7 million pounds, 8.0% below the five-year average for the August-March period and 2.0% below the same period in 2024\/25<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Snack:<\/strong>\u00a0304.6 million pounds, 0.1% below the five-year average for the August-March period but 7.5% above the same period in 2024\/25<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Other:<\/strong>\u00a053.1 million pounds, 36.1% above the five-year average for the August-March period and 28.6% above the same period in 2024\/25<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The year-to-date figures show snack usage performing notably stronger than the prior year despite March&#8217;s monthly decline, while the &#8220;Other&#8221; category continues to significantly outpace both the trailing five-year average and prior-year levels. Peanut butter usage, while\u00a0representing\u00a0the largest volume, trails both historical norms and prior-year pace.
